In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Hareram Singh of TMC won in this constituency beating Tapas Kumar Roy of BJP by a margin of 8051 votes which was 4.9% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Jahanara Khan of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating V. Sivadasan (Dasu) of TMC by a margin of 7757 votes which was 5% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Jahanara Khan of CPIM won this seat defeating Prabhat Kumar Chatterjee of TMC by a margin of 13873 votes which was 10.12% of the total votes polled for the seat.
