In 2016, Sukumar Hansda of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Chunibala Hansda of JKPN by a margin of 55228 votes which was 30.59% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sukumar Hansda of TMC won this seat defeating Amar Basu of CPIM by a margin of 15273 votes which was 9.82% of the total votes polled for the seat.
