In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Madan Mitra of TMC won in this constituency beating Anindya Banerjee of BJP by a margin of 35408 votes which was 24.8% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Manash Mukherjee of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Madan Mitra of TMC by a margin of 4198 votes which was 3.04% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Madan Mitra of TMC won this seat defeating Manash Mukherjee of CPIM by a margin of 24354 votes which was 19.05% of the total votes polled for the seat.
