In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Apurba Sarkar (David) of TMC won in this constituency beating Goutam Roy of BJP by a margin of 38080 votes which was 20.77% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Apurba Sarkar (David) of INC was the winner in this seat beating Dr. Santanu Sen of TMC by a margin of 20780 votes which was 13.02% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Apurba Sarkar(David) of INC won this seat defeating Ainal Haque of CPI by a margin of 7810 votes which was 5.41% of the total votes polled for the seat.
