This constituency covers an approximate area of 25 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kasba is: 22°31'03.0"N 88°23'55.7"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 72.61%, while it was 73.79% in 2016, and 77.45% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ahmed Javed Khan of TMC won in this constituency beating Dr Indranil Khan of BJP by a margin of 63622 votes which was 28.83% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ahmed Javed Khan-Ë&Quot; of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Shatarup Ghosh of CPIM by a margin of 11884 votes which was 6.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ahmed Javed Khan of TMC won this seat defeating Shatarup Ghosh of CPIM by a margin of 19889 votes which was 11.57% of the total votes polled for the seat.
