In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Dinen Roy of TMC won in this constituency beating Tapan Bhuya of BJP by a margin of 36230 votes which was 18.32% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Dinen Roy of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Sk Sajahan Ali of CPIM by a margin of 19099 votes which was 10.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Haque Nazmul of CPIM won this seat defeating Bilkis Khanam of TMC by a margin of 2504 votes which was 1.67% of the total votes polled for the seat.
