This constituency covers an approximate area of 238 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Krishnanagar Dakshin is: 23°25'16.0"N 88°27'26.3"E.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ujjal Biswas of TMC won in this constituency beating Mahadev Sarkar of BJP by a margin of 9305 votes which was 4.81% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ujjal Biswas of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Meghlal Sheikh of CPIM by a margin of 12814 votes which was 7.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ujjal Biswas of TMC won this seat defeating Biswas Rama of CPIM by a margin of 11028 votes which was 7.16% of the total votes polled for the seat.
