In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Abhijit Sinha (Rana) of TMC won in this constituency beating Biswajit Mondal of BJP by a margin of 17975 votes which was 8.6% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Islam Monirul of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Syed Mahfuzul Karim (Mahfuz) of CPIM by a margin of 30313 votes which was 15.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Islam Monirul of TMC won this seat defeating Nabanita Mukherjee of CPIM by a margin of 3006 votes which was 1.82% of the total votes polled for the seat.
