In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Tilak Kumar Chakraborty of TMC won in this constituency beating Biswanath Banerjee of BJP by a margin of 2386 votes which was 1.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Dr.Sudarsan Ghosh Dastidar of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Dr. Subrata Maiti of IND by a margin of 16709 votes which was 8.48% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sudarsan Ghosh Dastidar of TMC won this seat defeating Tamalika Ponda Seth. of CPIM by a margin of 28162 votes which was 16.28% of the total votes polled for the seat.
