In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Suvendu Adhikari of BJP won in this constituency beating Mamata Banerjee of TMC by a margin of 1956 votes which was 0.86% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Adhikari Suvendu of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Abdul Kabir Sekh of CPI by a margin of 81230 votes which was 40.3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Phiroja Bibi of TMC won this seat defeating Paramananda Bharati of CPI by a margin of 43640 votes which was 25.42% of the total votes polled for the seat.
