In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Manju Basu of TMC won in this constituency beating Sunil Singh of BJP by a margin of 26710 votes which was 14.08% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Madhusudan Ghose of INC was the winner in this seat beating Manju Basu of TMC by a margin of 1095 votes which was 0.58% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Manju Basu of TMC won this seat defeating Kusadhwaj Ghosh of CPIM by a margin of 41148 votes which was 24.2% of the total votes polled for the seat.
