In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Narendranath Chakraborty of TMC won in this constituency beating Jitendra Kumar Tewari of BJP by a margin of 3803 votes which was 2.35% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Kumar Jitendra Tewari of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Gouranga Chatterjee of CPIM by a margin of 5470 votes which was 3.59% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Gouranga Chatterjee of CPIM won this seat defeating Zahir Alam of TMC by a margin of 7811 votes which was 5.77% of the total votes polled for the seat.
