Pingla Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Paschim Medinipur district in the South West Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. Dhaneswarpur, Gobordhanpur, Jamna, Karkai, Kshirai, Kusumda and Pindurui GPs of CDB Pingla and 2. CDB Kharagpur - II

This constituency covers an approximate area of 382 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Pingla is: 22°20'29.4"N 87°26'53.5"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 89.02%, while it was 90.39% in 2016, and 92.08% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ajit Maity of TMC won in this constituency beating Antara Bhattacharyya of BJP by a margin of 6656 votes which was 2.94% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Saumen Kumar Mahapatra of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Prabodh Chandra Sinha of DSPP by a margin of 24218 votes which was 11.68% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Prabodh Chandra Sinha of DSPP won this seat defeating Ajit Maity of TMC by a margin of 1234 votes which was 0.69% of the total votes polled for the seat.
