In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Akhruzzaman of TMC won in this constituency beating Golam Modaswer of BJP by a margin of 98313 votes which was 52.42% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Akhruzzaman of INC was the winner in this seat beating Abul Kasem Molla of TMC by a margin of 23786 votes which was 14.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Akhruzzaman of INC won this seat defeating Abul Hasnat of RSP by a margin of 15540 votes which was 10.61% of the total votes polled for the seat.
