In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Shampa Dhara of TMC won in this constituency beating Manik Roy of BJP by a margin of 18205 votes which was 8% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Nepal Ghorui of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Khan Basudeb of CPIM by a margin of 448 votes which was 0.22% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Khan Basudeb of CPIM won this seat defeating Nepal Ghorui of TMC by a margin of 12221 votes which was 6.32% of the total votes polled for the seat.
