In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Mrityunjoy Murmu of TMC won in this constituency beating Sudhanshu Hansda of BJP by a margin of 19398 votes which was 10.13% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Birendra Nath Tudu of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Dilip Kumar Hansda of CPIM by a margin of 26722 votes which was 15.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Upen Kisku of CPIM won this seat defeating Pramila Murmu of TMC by a margin of 182 votes which was 0.12% of the total votes polled for the seat.
