In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Akhil Giri of TMC won in this constituency beating Swadesh Ranjan Nayak of BJP by a margin of 12517 votes which was 5.67% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Akhil Giri of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Tapas Sinha of CPIM by a margin of 28253 votes which was 13.98% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Akhil Giri of TMC won this seat defeating Swadesh Ranjan Nayak of CPIM by a margin of 16559 votes which was 9.28% of the total votes polled for the seat.
