In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Samar Mukherjee of TMC won in this constituency beating Abishek Singhania of BJP by a margin of 75650 votes which was 34.85% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Samar Mukherjee of INC was the winner in this seat beating Shehnaz Quadery of TMC by a margin of 43275 votes which was 23.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Samar Mukherjee of INC won this seat defeating Sailen Sarkar of CPIM by a margin of 6861 votes which was 4.43% of the total votes polled for the seat.
