In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Tapan Dasgupta of TMC won in this constituency beating Debabrata Biswas of BJP by a margin of 9772 votes which was 5.17% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Tapan Dasgupta of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Dilip Nath of INC by a margin of 18567 votes which was 10.3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Tapan Dasgupta of TMC won this seat defeating Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay of CPIM by a margin of 30868 votes which was 19.32% of the total votes polled for the seat.
