In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Dr Shashi Panja of TMC won in this constituency beating Sandipan Biswas of BJP by a margin of 22520 votes which was 22.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Shashi Panja of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Piyali Pal of AIFB by a margin of 13155 votes which was 11.26% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dr. Shashi Panja of TMC won this seat defeating Jiban Prakash Saha of AIFB by a margin of 27036 votes which was 21.5% of the total votes polled for the seat.
