In 2016, Asok Bhattacharya of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Bhaichung Bhutia of TMC by a margin of 14072 votes which was 8.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Rudra Nath Bhattacharya of TMC won this seat defeating Asok Bhattacharya of CPIM by a margin of 5006 votes which was 3.34% of the total votes polled for the seat.
