In 2016, Rabindranath Bhattacharya E of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Rabin Deb of CPIM by a margin of 20327 votes which was 10.4% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Rabindranath Bhattacharya of TMC won this seat defeating Dr. Asit Das of CPIM by a margin of 34811 votes which was 19.88% of the total votes polled for the seat.
