In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Emani Biswas of TMC won in this constituency beating Koushik Das of BJP by a margin of 70701 votes which was 33.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Humayun Reza of INC was the winner in this seat beating Emani Biswas of TMC by a margin of 3950 votes which was 2.1% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Emani Biswas of INC won this seat defeating Jane Alam Mian of RSP by a margin of 17409 votes which was 11.58% of the total votes polled for the seat.
