In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Sanjiv Chaurasia of BJP won in this constituency beating Shashi Yadav of CPIMLL by a margin of 46234 votes which was 27.12% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Sanjiv Chaurasia of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Rajeev Ranjan Prasad of JDU by a margin of 24779 votes which was 13.57% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Punam Devi of JDU won this seat defeating Satya Nand Sharma of LJP by a margin of 60462 votes which was 46.16% of the total votes polled for the seat.
