In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Pawan Kumar Yadav of BJP won in this constituency beating Shubhanand Mukesh of INC by a margin of 42893 votes which was 20.88% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Sadanand Singh of INC was the winner in this seat beating Niraj Kumar Mandal of LJP by a margin of 21229 votes which was 11.98% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Sadanand Singh of INC won this seat defeating Kahkashan Perween of JDU by a margin of 8935 votes which was 6.75% of the total votes polled for the seat.
