In 2015, Arun Kumar Sinha of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Aquil Haider of INC by a margin of 37275 votes which was 23.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Arun Kumar Sinha of BJP won this seat defeating Md. Kamal Parwez of LJP by a margin of 67808 votes which was 58.55% of the total votes polled for the seat.
