In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Ajay Nishad of BJP won in this seat defeating Raj Bhushan Choudhary of VSIP by a margin of 4,09,988 votes which was 38.75% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 63% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Ajay Nishad of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Akhilesh Pd Singh of INC by a margin of 2,22,422 votes which was 23.44% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 49.46% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Jai Narayan Prasad Nishad of JDU won this seat beating Bhagwanlal Sahni of LJP by a margin of 47,809 votes which was 7.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. JDU had a vote share of 31.37% in the seat.
