In the November 7, 2020 bypolls for Valmiki Nagar Lok Sabha constituency, Sunil Kumar of JDU won from this seat defeating Pravesh Kumar Mishra of INC by a margin of 22,539 votes which was 2.13% of the total votes cast for the seat. JDU had a vote share of 38.08% in the bye-elections.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Baidyanath Prasad Mahto of JDU won in this seat defeating Shashwat Kedar of INC by a margin of 3,54,616 votes which was 34.36% of the total votes cast for the seat. JDU had a vote share of 58.38% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Satish Chandra Dubey of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Purnmasi Ram of INC by a margin of 1,17,795 votes which was 13.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 40.44% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Baidyanath Prasad Mahto of JDU won this seat beating Fakhruddin of IND by a margin of 1,83,675 votes which was 30.64% of the total votes polled in the constituency. JDU had a vote share of 46.33% in the seat.
