In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, Birendra Singh of BJP won in this constituency beating Shashi Shekhar Singh of INC by a margin of 22430 votes which was 12.76% of the total votes cast. In 2015, Awadhesh Kumar Singh of INC was the winner in this seat beating Birendra Singh of BJP by a margin of 12759 votes which was 7.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2010 Assembly elections, Virendra Singh of BJP won this seat defeating Awadhesh Kumar Singh of INC by a margin of 17766 votes which was 14.55% of the total votes polled for the seat.
