In 2014, Bharatiben Dhirubhai Shiyal of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Rathod Pravinbhai Jinabhai of INC by a margin of 2,95,488 votes which was 25.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 47.13% in the seat.
