Assembly constituency no.15. Deoghar comprises of the following areas of Deoghar district in the Santhal Parganas region of Jharkhand: Deoghar town and Mohanpur police stations and Jasidih police station (excluding Gram Panchayats Kusmil, Chanddih, Pathra and Basbariya) in Deoghar sub-division.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 697.55 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 24°30'00.4"N 86°42'17.3"E.

A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Jharkhand share borders with Deoghar constituency, which are: Poreyahat, Jama, Jarmundi, Madhupur. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Jamui and Banka districts of Bihar.

Voter turnout

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, in the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly elections, the estimated voter turnout in this Jharkhand constituency was 66.01%. In 2019, this seat registered a turnout of 63.86%, while it was 64.79% in 2014 and 47.22% in 2009. The estimated turnout in 2024 was -2.15% compared to the 2019 turnout.

In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Narayan Das of BJP won in this constituency beating Suresh Paswan of RJD by a margin of 2,624 votes which was 01.13% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Narayan Das of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Suresh Paswan of RJD by a margin of 45,152 votes which was 20.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Suresh Paswan of RJD won this seat defeating Baldeo Das of JVM by a margin of 17,740 votes which was 13.02% of the total votes polled for the seat.
