In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Manish Jaiswal of BJP won in this constituency beating Dr Ramchandra Prasad of INC by a margin of 51,812 votes which was 23.96% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Manish Jaiswal of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Pradip Prasad of IND by a margin of 27,129 votes which was 13.44% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Saurabh Narain Singh of INC won this seat defeating Deo Dayal of BJP by a margin of 9,287 votes which was 6.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
