Assembly constituency no.4. Littipara comprises of the following areas of Pakur district in the Santhal Parganas region of Jharkhand: Litipara, Amrapara and Hiranpur police stations in Pakaur sub-division; and Gopikandar police station in Dumka Sadar sub-division.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1075.1 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 24°40'06.2"N 87°35'30.1"E.

In 2014, Dr Anil Murmu of JMM was the winner in this seat beating Simon Marandi of BJP by a margin of 25,083 votes which was 17.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Simon Marandi of JMM won this seat defeating Anil Murmu of INC by a margin of 5,397 votes which was 5.68% of the total votes polled for the seat.
