This constituency covers an approximate area of 1390.11 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 22°53'47.4"N 85°05'13.6"E.

In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Koche Munda of BJP won in this constituency beating Sudeep Guria of JMM by a margin of 9,630 votes which was 08.23% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Paulus Surin of JMM was the winner in this seat beating Koche Munda of BJP by a margin of 43 votes which was 0.04% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Paulus Surin of JMM won this seat defeating Koche Munda of BJP by a margin of 15,799 votes which was 18.65% of the total votes polled for the seat.
