Haripad Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Alappuzha district in the Travancore region of Kerala: Arattupuzha, Cheppad, Cheruthana, Chingoli, Haripad, Karthikappally, Karuvatta, Kumarapuram, Muthukulam, Pallippad and Thrikkunnapuzha Panchayats in Karthikappally Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 148 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Haripad is: 9°16'01.9"N 76°26'48.1"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Ramesh Chennithala of INC won in this constituency beating Adv R Sajilal of CPI by a margin of 13666 votes which was 9.11% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ramesh Chennithala of INC was the winner in this seat beating P.Prasad of CPI by a margin of 18621 votes which was 12.51% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ramesh Chennithala of INC won this seat defeating G.Krishnaprasad of CPI by a margin of 5520 votes which was 4.1% of the total votes polled for the seat.
