Kochi Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Ernakulam district in the Cochin region of Kerala: Kumbalangi and Chellanam panchayats and Wards No.1 to 10 and 19 to 25 of Kochi (M.Corporation) in Kochi Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 76 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kochi is: 9°54'24.5"N 76°16'20.6"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, K J Maxy of CPIM won in this constituency beating Tony Chammany of INC by a margin of 14079 votes which was 10.98% of the total votes cast. In 2016, K J Maxy of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Dominic Presentation of INC by a margin of 1086 votes which was 0.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dominic Presentation of INC won this seat defeating M.C.Josephine of CPIM by a margin of 16503 votes which was 15.63% of the total votes polled for the seat.
