Kundara Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kollam district in the Travancore region of Kerala: Elampalloor, Kottamkara, Kundara, Nedumpana, Perayam Perinad and Thrikkovilvattom Panchayats in Kollam Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 123 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kundara is: 8°56'04.2"N 76°40'23.5"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, P C Vishnunadh of INC won in this constituency beating J Mercykutty Amma of CPIM by a margin of 4523 votes which was 2.91% of the total votes cast. In 2016, J.Mercy Kutty Amma of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Rajmohan Unnithan of INC by a margin of 30460 votes which was 19.97% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, M.A. Baby of CPIM won this seat defeating Adv:P.Jermias of INC by a margin of 14793 votes which was 11.56% of the total votes polled for the seat.
