Kunnamkulam Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Thrissur district in the Cochin region of Kerala: Kunnamkulam Municipality and Chowannur, Erumapetty, Kadangode, Kadavallur, Kattakampal, Porkulam and Veloor Panchayats in Thalappilly Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 191 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kunnamkulam is: 10°40'08.8"N 76°04'06.2"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, A C Moideen of CPIM won in this constituency beating K Jayasankar of INC by a margin of 26631 votes which was 17.26% of the total votes cast. In 2016, A C Moideen(E) of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating C P John of CMPKSC by a margin of 7782 votes which was 5.16% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Babu.M.Palissery of CPIM won this seat defeating C.P.John of CMPKSC by a margin of 481 votes which was 0.37% of the total votes polled for the seat.
