Extent

Manalur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Thrissur district in the Cochin region of Kerala: Arimpur and Manalur Panchayats in Thrissur Taluk; Choondal and Kandanassery Panchayats in Thalappilly Taluk; Elavally, Mullassery, Vadanappally, Pavaratty, Thaikkad and Venkitangu Panchayats in Chavakkad Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 209 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Manalur is: 10°31'40.8"N 76°06'23.0"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 73.2%, while it was 76.75% in 2016, and 73.44% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Murali of CPIM won in this constituency beating Vijay Hari of INC by a margin of 29876 votes which was 17.91% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Murali Perunelly of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating O.Abdu Rahimankutty of INC by a margin of 19325 votes which was 11.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.A. Madhavan of INC won this seat defeating Baby John of CPIM by a margin of 481 votes which was 0.34% of the total votes polled for the seat.
