Muvattupuzha Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Ernakulam district in the Cochin region of Kerala: Muvattupuzha Municipality and Arakuzha, Avoly, Ayavana, Kalloorkad, Manjalloor, Marady, Paipra, Palakkuzha and Valakom Panchayats in Muvattupuzha Taluk and Paingottoor and Pothanicad Panchayats in Kothamangalam Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 291 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Muvattupuzha is: 9°57'18.7"N 76°36'34.6"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 73.57%, while it was 80.16% in 2016, and 75.29% in 2011.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, Dr Mathew Kuzhalnadan of INC won in this constituency beating Eldho Abraham of CPI by a margin of 6161 votes which was 4.28% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Eldho Abraham of CPI was the winner in this seat beating Joseph Vazhackan of INC by a margin of 9375 votes which was 6.57% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Joseph Vazhackkan of INC won this seat defeating Babu Paul of CPI by a margin of 5163 votes which was 4.44% of the total votes polled for the seat.
