Parassala Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Thiruvananthapuram district in the Travancore region of Kerala: Amboori, Aryancode, Kallikkad, Kollayil, Kunnathukal, Ottasekharamangalam, Parassala, Perumkadavila and Vellarada Panchayats in Neyyattinkara Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 317 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Parassala is: 8°28'08.8"N 77°11'15.0"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, C K Hareendran of CPIM won in this constituency beating An Sajitha Ressal R K of INC by a margin of 25828 votes which was 15.9% of the total votes cast. In 2016, C.K.Hareendrakumar (C.K.Hareendran) of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating A.T.George of INC by a margin of 18566 votes which was 11.75% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, A.T. George of INC won this seat defeating Anavoor Nagappan of CPIM by a margin of 505 votes which was 0.37% of the total votes polled for the seat.
