Thodupuzha Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Idukki district in the Cochin region of Kerala: Thodupuzha Municipality and Alacode, Edavetty, Karimannoor, Karimkunnam, Kodikulam, Kumaramangalam, Manakkad, Muttom, Purapuzha, Udumbannoor, Vannapuram and Velliyamattom Panchayats in Thodupuzha Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 605 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Thodupuzha is: 9°54'44.6"N 76°48'29.9"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, P J Joseph of KEC won in this constituency beating Prof K I Antony of KCM by a margin of 20259 votes which was 14.67% of the total votes cast. In 2016, P.J. Joseph of KCM was the winner in this seat beating Adv. Roy Varicattu of IND by a margin of 45587 votes which was 32.2% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.J.Joseph of KCM won this seat defeating Prof. Joseph Augustine of IND by a margin of 22868 votes which was 17.9% of the total votes polled for the seat.
