Vadakara Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Kozhikode district in the Malabar region of Kerala: Vadakara Municipality and Azhiyur, Chorode, Eramala and Onchiam Panchayats in Vadakara Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 73 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Vadakara is: 11°38'10.7"N 75°35'15.4"E.

In the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections, K K Rema of RMPOI won in this constituency beating Manayath Chandran of LTJD by a margin of 7491 votes which was 5.5% of the total votes cast. In 2016, C.K.Nanu of JDS was the winner in this seat beating Manayath Chandran of JDU by a margin of 9511 votes which was 7.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, C.K.Nanu of JDS won this seat defeating Adv.M.K. Premnath of SJD by a margin of 847 votes which was 0.74% of the total votes polled for the seat.
