Wadakkanchery Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Thrissur district in the Cochin region of Kerala: Adat, Avanoor, Kaiparambu, Kolazhy, Mulamkunnathukavu and Tholur Panchayats in Thrissur Taluk and Mundathikode, Wadakkanchery and Thekkumkara Panchayats in Thalappilly Taluk.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 209 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Wadakkanchery is: 10°36'20.9"N 76°12'25.9"E.

In the 2011 Assembly elections, C.N.Balakrishnan of INC won this seat defeating N.R.Balan of CPIM by a margin of 6685 votes which was 4.8% of the total votes polled for the seat.
