In 2014, Upendra Kushwaha of RLSP emerged victorious in this seat beating Kanti Singh of RJD by a margin of 1,05,241 votes which was 13.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. RLSP secured a vote share of 42.9% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Mahabali Singh of JDU won this seat beating Kanti Singh of RJD by a margin of 20,483 votes which was 3.55% of the total votes polled in the constituency. JDU had a vote share of 34.13% in the seat.
