In the 2019 Lok Sabha general elections, Niranjan Jyoti of BJP won in this seat defeating Sukhdev Prasad Verma of BSP by a margin of 1,98,205 votes which was 18.99% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 54.19% in 2019 in this seat.

In 2014, Niranjan Jyoti of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Afzal Siddiqui of BSP by a margin of 1,87,206 votes which was 17.72% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP secured a vote share of 45.99% in the seat.

In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Rakesh Sachan of SP won this seat beating Mahendra Prasad Nishad of BSP by a margin of 52,228 votes which was 7.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. SP had a vote share of 31.53% in the seat.
