In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Nilay Vinod Daga of INC won in this seat defeating Hemant Vijay Khandelwal of BJP by a margin of 21,645 which was 11.51% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 51.44% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Hemant Vijay Khandelwal of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Hemant Wagadre of INC by a margin of 24,347 votes which was 15.51% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 52.83% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Alkesh Arya of BJP won this seat beating Vinod Daga of INC by a margin of 5,391 votes which was 4.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 48.29% in the seat.

Betul Assembly constituency has an estimated Scheduled Caste population of 9.21% and an estimated Scheduled Tribe population of 23.62%, according to the report of the Delimitation Commission of 2008.
