In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Prakash Mangilal Sharma (P C Sharma) of INC won in this seat defeating Uma Shankar Gupta of BJP by a margin of 6,587 which was 4.79% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 48.97% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Umashankar Gupta of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Sanjeev Saxena of INC by a margin of 18,198 votes which was 13.89% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 54.31% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Umashanker Gupta of BJP won this seat beating Sanjeev Saxena of BSP by a margin of 26,002 votes which was 27.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BSP had a vote share of 51.03% in the seat.
