In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Arif Aqueel of INC won in this seat defeating Fatima Rasool Siddiqui (Gudiya) of BJP by a margin of 34,857 which was 22.66% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 58.77% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Arif Aqueel of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Arif Baig of BJP by a margin of 6,664 votes which was 4.62% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 50.7% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Arif Aqueel of INC won this seat beating Alok Sharma of BJP by a margin of 4,026 votes which was 3.46% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 50.08% in the seat.
