In 2013, Arif Aqueel of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Arif Baig of BJP by a margin of 6,664 votes which was 4.62% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 50.7% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Arif Aqueel of INC won this seat beating Alok Sharma of BJP by a margin of 4,026 votes which was 3.46% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 50.08% in the seat.

Assembly constituency no.150. Bhopal Uttar comprises of the following areas of Bhopal district in the Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh: Ward Nos 5 to 18 and 22 of Bhopal (Municipal Corporation and Out Growth) of Huzur Tehsil.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 55 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bhopal Uttar is: 23°16'50.9"N 77°21'18.7"E.
