In 2013, Gopal Singh Chauhan Daggi Raja of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Rao Rajkumar Singh Yadav of BJP by a margin of 30,318 votes which was 24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 58.17% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Rao Rajkumar Singh Mahuan of BJP won this seat beating Gopal Singh Chauhan (Daggi Raja) of INC by a margin of 4,548 votes which was 4.87% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 35.46% in the seat.

Assembly constituency no.33. Chanderi comprises of the following areas of Ashok Nagar district in the Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh: Isagarh Tehsil, Chanderi RI Circle of Chanderi Tehsil and Chanderi (M) Municipality.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,713 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Chanderi is: 24°46'08.4"N 77°46'51.6"E.

A total of five Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh share borders with Chanderi constituency, which are: Pichhore, Kolaras, Bamori, Ashok Nagar, Mungaoli. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
